TOURIST SIM ACTIVATION PROCESS:
Below is a step-by-step process for tourists to get connected with NetOne upon arrival:
Step 1: Welcome & Identification As tourists arrive at the airport shop , proactively introduce the NetOne Tourist SIM. Clearly communicate that the SIM card itself is free of charge specifically for visitors.
Step 2: Mandatory Passport Registration Request the visitor’s original, valid Passport. You must complete the mandatory registration in the system before the SIM is handed over. Ensure the details match the travel document to remain compliant with regulatory requirements.
Step 3: Consultation & Airtime Sale Once registered, consult with the tourist on their data and calling needs. Sell them the NetOne Airtime voucher required to cover the specific Tourist Package they intend to use.
Step 4: Facilitate the Recharge Assist the tourist in loading the airtime onto their device. Ensure the balance is reflected correctly on the new SIM before proceeding to the final step.
Step 5: Package Activation via *401# Guide the customer to dial *401# on their handset. Explain the menu options and help them select the Tourist Package that best fits their stay. Confirm that the data, talk time, and SMS bundles are active before they leave desk.
Terms and Conditions
- The Tourist SIM is an all-encompassing product (Voice, SMS and Data) that gives more value and connectivity to short-term visitors at an affordable price.
- The Tourist SIM card shall be available to eligible subscribers FREE.
- The Tourist SIM card shal! be eligible to any visitor that produces identification in the form of a valid foreign passport or any other valid travel document.
- The Tourist SIM card shall be available via both physical SIM and eSIM.
- The SIM shall be valid for a period of 90 days from activation date.
- Subscription and balance enquiry to Tourist SIM bundle shal1 be available on USSD code *401#.
- The Tourist bundle(s) shall be valid for 30 days. Upon expiry, any unused balances shall expire and cannot be redeemed or used on another SIM.
- Bundled services are for use within Zimbabwe only: international calls and SMS are not included. For international services, subscribers must recharge their main wallet and will be charged at the prevailing international rates.
- The Tourist SIM shall not be eligible for local products, bundles and/ or promotions available in the market.
- The Customer is responsible for the safekeeping and usage of their Tourist SIM. NetOne shall not be liable to the Customer for any loss, theft or misuse of the Tourist SIM.
- By giving relevant notice, regulatory approval (POTRAZ) and in accordance with normal requirements, NetOne may, at its absolute discretion revise any or all instances of the Tourist SIM from any or all customers upon giving reasonable advance notice and without affecting current subscriptions.
