How to fund your OneMoney Wallet

Date Published

In the fast-paced Zimbabwean economy, convenience isn't just a luxury—it's a necessity. Whether you are paying for ZESA, settling City of Harare bills, or sending money to family in rural areas, having a funded mobile wallet is the engine that keeps your life moving.

NetOne’s OneMoney has established itself as a secure, low-cost leader in the mobile financial services space. But a wallet is only useful if it has a balance. This guide breaks down every way you can fund your OneMoney account to ensure you stay connected and in control.

1. ZIPIT: The Bridge Between Your Bank and Wallet

ZIPIT is perhaps the most powerful tool for funding your wallet. It allows for instant inter-bank transfers from any Zimbabwean bank or mobile money wallet directly to your OneMoney account.

Why use ZIPIT?

Speed: Funds reflect instantly, 24/7.

Accessibility: You can initiate a ZIPIT transaction from your bank’s USSD code (e.g., *220# for FBC, *440*600# for ZB Bank).

Low Cost: ZIPIT is designed for smaller, real-time transfers with competitive fees compared to traditional RTGS.

Bank USSD Codes:

FBC Bank*220#

ZB Bank*225#

POSB*222# (NetOne/Telecel) or *223#

CBZ Bank*230#

Stanbic Bank*247#

Steward Bank*210#

NMB Bank*240#

CABS*227#

BancABC*242#

First Capital Bank*229#

Agribank (AFC)*277#

How to fund via ZIPIT:

Log into your bank’s mobile banking platform or dial the respective USSD code.

Select Transfers and then ZIPIT.

Choose ZIPIT and look up for OneMoney under the list of banks.

Select OneMoney as the destination.

Enter your NetOne phone number and the amount.

Note: Your OneMoney account number is your phone number with the 263 prefix. For example, if your OneMoney registered number is 0712123123, then your OneMoney account number will be 263712123123.

2. Receive Money from another OneMoney user

Sometimes the easiest way to fund your wallet is to have someone else send money to you. OneMoney-to-OneMoney transfers are seamless.

To receive money, simply give the sender your registered NetOne number. Once they send the funds via the Send Money option on their *111# menu, you will receive an SMS confirmation instantly.

3. Cash-In at any of your nearest NetOne shop / agent

The third option of funding your OneMoney account is via a cash in. If you have physical cash (ZiG or USD) and need it in your OneMoney wallet to pay bills or buy airtime, the "Cash-In" method is your go-to solution.

Where to Cash-In:

NetOne Shops: Visit any of your nearest NetOne shop. Check your nearest NetOne shop via the shop locator.

Authorized Agents: Look for the OneMoney logo at grocery stores, pharmacies, and independent agents.

Zimpost: OneMoney Remit services allow for easy deposits at Zimpost outlets across the country.

The Process:

Visit the agent or shop with your cash and ID.

Provide your NetOne number.

The agent will process the deposit.

Crucial: Always wait for the SMS confirmation on your phone before leaving the counter.

4. OnePay: Direct Salary and Allowance Deposits

OnePay is the professional's choice. It allows companies and organizations to pay salaries, allowances, or commissions directly into your OneMoney wallet.

Why Choose OnePay for your Salary?

Avoid Bank Queues: No more standing in line on payday.

Immediate Access: As soon as your employer processes the payroll, your funds are available for use.

Financial Inclusion: It functions like a bank account, allowing you to build a financial history.

To set this up, provide your employer with your registered OneMoney mobile number. Many companies in Zimbabwe now use OnePay as a primary disbursement tool for its reliability and low transaction costs.
